On the back of the wood frame written in pencil is Fontana Gal (possibly the location where it was painted) The artist , Yitzhak (Itzhak) Frenkel Frenel, was born in 1899 in Odessa Ukraine. He died at the age of 82 in Tel Aviv Israel. He is also known as Isaac or Alexandre. he was an Israeli painter, sculptor, and teacher. He was one of the leading Jewish artists gaining international recognition during his lifetime. His works, reveal abstract and cubist influences that he probably adopted while studying in Paris.
