Description: Original WWII German 84/98 III 98k bayonet E&F Horster 1940 #1685f with matching scabbard. Bayonet and scabbard numbered 1685f on the front and marked "E&F.HORSTER on the reverse, the spine of the blade is marked 40. The blade has 85% of the blueing and is unsharpened, also with some in and out wear. The pommel has most of the blueing with some patina,, the press stud functions fine and the brown bakelite grips are excellent. The crossguard has wear on the finish, and the flashguard has some of its finish and with patina and is dented. The scabbard has most of the finish remaining below the frog area with patina and is missing the screw. I have taken pictures of the serial numbers and markings on the bayonet and scabbard.
