Description: Original WW2 US WAR & NAVY DEPARTMENT map covering an area of RUSSIA which includes MURMANSK. From the "EUROPEAN RUSSIA" series (A.M.S. 5307) printed in June 1943 by the 'Army Map Service' in Washington. SHEET 2. The series contained only twenty separate sheets and was produced from pre-existing Russian maps, hence the 'Cyrillic' script used for place names. Judging by the scale and the impracticality of the Cyrillic script for almost all American users, it's safe to say that maps from this series would not have been produced in any great number, and would most likely have been used for overview and planning purposes. This suggests quite a high ranking intended 'audience'. In great condition. Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
