Description: This is an antique/vintage Cairns & Brother leather Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ Fire Dept. #1 fire helmet shield! It measures approx. 4 1/2" wide x 6" tall x 1 3/8" deep (due to the curvature). The metal brace on the back is stamped "CAIRNS & BRO". It is in very nice condition for its age, however there are some signs of wear. Part of the edge of the seraph of the '1' has worn away, and the edges of some of the layers visible on the back are tattered. There is a tiny pinhole to the left of the '1', and the metal brace on the back is a bit rusty. Please see our photos for more details, and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
