Description: Chic piece of SPINX costume jewelry c. 1950-1960. The Spinx company was founded in Chiswick, England in 1948 by S. Root. They became known for their high quality, statement piece jewelry, and in the 1950-1960s produced jewelry for the Boucher Company. Sphinx jewelry can be identified by an oval cartouche often with a numeric design stamp. This piece showcases a turtle in brushed gold, emerald & sapphire enamel punctuated with lustrous rhinestones.
