Description: Vintage Native American Navajo Thunderbird Bolo Signed by artist Henry Baca. 1980's presumed date/ This is a stunning Bolo or Pendent However you choose to look at it. I'm a woman and have been wearing it so the right Bolo s I consider unisex. This is a large impressive piece measuring a good 3.5 " by 3" or more. I put a dime next to it to give some idea. There is a tremendous amount of work that has gone into this. All of Wings and feathers are finely inlaid with turquoise and coral. Center has a nice good size Kingman stone as a center piece. All of this is hand made by the artist. The back is stamped sterling as well as the initials of the artist looks like JD however the D looks like it's faded ,?? There is a spot on the back which I believe was from a not so bright local jeweler who did an acid test on it to see if it was sterling. It was not necessary. It does not hurt the silver or piece just pointing it out. On the Thunderbird on each side of the stone he has 3 E's and an o. I don't know if that has any significance or Is the design. Tips are in good shape. Sterling, 2". Small design on top. Leather chord In great shape. I know this is an older piece actual age unknown. Belonged to ones family member for a long time.
