Description: Vintage Maurice Heaton Enameled Fused Art Glass Rectangular Tray, c. 1950-60s This is the work of noted Swiss-American glass artist Maurice Heaton (1900-1989). Judging by the design and technique, it was most likely made sometime in the 1950s, although there's no way to know for sure. Classic mid-century lines, and modernist look and feel. It is designed in a slumped shallow rectangular tray form with rounded corners. The design features wavy, broken lines radiating from the center in opaque white glass, with gradated rust orange highlights moving towards the center. The center has a bright red accent spot. It displays well in a plate holder--as shown--or as a wall hanging (in a mount or a plate hanger). This really likes bright, focused light. The dimensions are 12-1/8" wide x 5-7/8" high x 5/8" deep. This is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, heavy scratches, or other problems. Marked with the characteristic "M.H." in the enamel of one of the radiating lines. Also marked with "1B" or "18" in the enamel lower center (I don't know the meaning of this mark). Note: The white hotspots and reflections are from the lights.
