Knowles Hare is a magazine and calendar illustrator, one of whose etchings, entitled "Sympathy," is reputed to have had a wider sale than any other executed by an American artist. Due to it age, the etching does have flaws like paper creases, yellowing, some staining and also frayed edges and a small tear on the back.
