Vintage Excellent 1940s Resistol Gray Beaver Fifteen Fedora 7-3/8 Stetson

Description: This Excellent 1940s True Vintage Resistol - Beaver Fifteen 15 - Dove Gray Fedora, size 7-3/8. The Leather sweatband states “BEAVER FIFTEEN and with that Resistol “KITTEN FINISH” that’s what makes this feels MUCH MUCH SOFTER and THICKER! This came out of my Son’s collection. Dating was easy. SILK LINER! NOT SATIN!If you look closely at the Liner Design inside the fedora you can see it’s a 1940s design. This has a SILK liner! It is NOT Satin! Actual silk liners were only used pre-1950s. We are touching the liner cover and even my grandson cannot determine if there is any cover on it? As we try and lift it there is no separation that we can see. We added so many pictures maybe someone out there recognizes this liner and can tell us if there is a liner cover? If anything it has an Onion Skin type but it’s so hard to tell? We tried lifting and separating it from the liner but it doesn’t appear to move or lift up. We are stumped on this one. You are buying what you see in the pictures. Note: the oval Resistol hat box is badly broken on the underside and has no hat holding insert set so Dad has replaced it with that square Resistol hat box. The hat box is still in great condition! With its original hat holding insert set with only minor paper wear and broken corner. Still well worthy of Displaying, Shipping and storing the fedora inside. We added pictures so you can easily see its great condition. It’s a big box that will require a large shipping box. So it does cost a couple dollars more than most of our shipping charges. NOTE: shipping outside the Continental USA currently INCLUDES the hat box. If you DO NOT a want the hat box, please write to us before buying so we can edit the Size and Weight. The brim can be easily turned up or down, as you may like it? We can steam that shape into the hat if you’d like, just write and ask. But it easily will flip up and stay in that position with steaming it. This style fedora can be seen in all those 1940s Crime Gangster Movies! Favorites of James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and so many others.So as my Grandson wanted to add to a newer movie: The Blues Brothers and the fedora hat that John Belushi wore in that movie. The color is a light Gray, some folks call it DOVE GRAY and The picture of the whole underside reflects the actual color. This is a Beaver FIFTEEN, with that Kitten Finish. The Kitten Finish really makes this Extremely soft! Dad and Grandson steamed shaped a bit of a tune up, currently has been shaped into a pinched crown fedora because that Beaver Fifteen is so easy to work with! This is a VINTAGE Beaver Fifteen and It’s nothing like what you would compare to any newer hat! It’s just very soft and thick beaver, soft and thick and so easy to shape! We NEVER hide anything on the great hats we list for dad. Though dad and I are both very old we always have my grandson do the final inspections with his young healthy eyes. We did NOT want to over stress that leather sweatband by turning it inside out to find the Under-Tag. There was NO need to do that because we are 100% confident of our measurements! So we always measure each hat 3 times, using different methods to verify the actual size. We use the Tilley hat size chart. This chart is still in use today.
