Description: Offered is a Vintage CPO Wife's Club Hand Carved San Miguel P.I. Serving Tray. This wood tray has a glass top. I don't know much about this piece except that it is hand carved and beautiful! San Miguel is in the Philippines and CPO is most likely Chief Petty Officer. I would peg this around mid-century if I had to approximate a date on this piece. The carving features three natives with a wonderful sun rise in the background. The natives are working, such as the woman carrying wares on her head, a man carrying fruit ad a basket on his shoulder, and another woman appear to be preparing food, The palm trees and straw hut are very detailed; as are the mountains and other scenery. This wood tray measures about 21" (including handles) by 12". The back of the tray reads "CPO WIFES CLUB SAN MIGUEL P.I." The tray is in great condition with only light to moderate wear, but one wood handle has the curved grip part broke. (See pics). A great, folk art military piece to add to your collection.
