Description: Vintage (1980s) Collectible Curious George Welch's Jelly/Jam Glass #6. The glass offered is the last in a series of six (6) collectible images of the popular children's book character, Curious George, a fictional and rambunctious/curious monkey. The first of a series of Curious George books was first published in 1941. In the mid 80s, some of the books were re-released. It's my speculation that the Welch company viewed the inclusion of the familiar character as an appealing marketing device for youngsters. The predominantly green banner circling the outside glass surface is in very good condition (VGC). There is no wear to the image, chips or cracks. It's a fine collectible to complete a set of 6 or a good artifact for someone interested in beginning to collect a full set. The glass measures: height 4"; diameter at top edge 2 3/4"; diameter at bottom edge 2".
