Description: Beautiful vintage laboratory/apothecary metric weight set. Made by CISCO (Central Scientific Company, Chicago. IL). Solid mahogany box contains 8 brass weights, 9 fractionals, 2 grain weights. There is also a pair of tweezers. Box measures 5" long x 3 7/8" deep x 12" tall. The box is constructed of 5/16 solid mahogany and assembled using a splined miter joint. Brass weights are 50gm, 20gm, 2x10gm, 5gm, 2x2gm and 1gm. Grain weights are: 12 and 6. Fractionals range from 500mg to 10mg. Glass cover over smaller weights. Box was cleaned and refinished with several coats of MinWax Satin Varnish and hand polished to a soft luster with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Original black velvet lining.
