Description: Barbie said she wasn't a party girl, but no one believed her when she wore her Golden Girl outfit! This fitted strapless gold lame sheath was available from 1959-62, and it was also sold as part of Barbie's classic Evening Splendour outfit. This outfit is in Excellent and Complete condition and consists of the gold lame dress on a clear plastic dress form, turquoise clutch purse, short white gloves, reproduction pearl necklace, and brown Japan marked mules. This is a vintage Mattel outfit and nothing is reproduction but the pearl necklace. I don't rate anything as "Mint" unless I have just taken it out of the original packaging. I have collected vintage Barbie for over 30 years, and I scrutinize the items I sell on eBay. If you have a concern that I didn't cover in my description, please ask me a question:). I am selling a large vintage Barbie collection on eBay, so you may want to save me as a seller. The brocade dress is clean, and the fabric shows little wear. The vintage YKK zipper at the dress back works well. The dress has a BarbieR tag sewn in the lower back skirt seam. The turquoise corduroy clutch purse has its button and loop closure. The corduroy hasn't faded like most of the purses do. There is a discoloration/stain on the front of the purse, which is mostly covered by the flap, see pic #3. So I think the purse will look good on display. The short white gloves are off-white, but don't have any holes or rips. There is a tiny pull on 1 side of 1 glove, and some faint soil on 1 side of the other glove; but both gloves have a "good side" that can be displayed "up". The reproduction pearl necklace is bright & shiny, and will look great on Barbie! The brown open toe mules are marked Japan on the bottom of one shoe, and they don't have any splits. All eyes will be on your favorite Barbie when she wears her Golden Girl outfit!
