Description: .......We've moved into a smaller place, so we're offering the highest bidder in this auction a terrific assortment (our choice) of at least 200 different MLB baseball cards depicting at least 50 well-known players, printed by Topps (base set and/or Stadium Club), Donruss, Fleer, Score, and/or Upper Deck in the 1980s and the early 1990s (all are more than 25 years old). Among these cards from that 10-year span, even though most are just a notch or two in value above the 'commons' (all of the 'no-name' commons have already been culled out), we're able to include a handful of SUPERSTARS and ROOKIE cards (of lesser-known players), and won't duplicate any of the cards, unless you request more of your favorite players). .......More than thirty Minor Stars (starting pitchers with 100 Wins and/or 1000 Strikeouts, relievers with 150 Saves or a Cy Young Award, catchers, infielders and outfielders with at least 900 hits and/or 50 homers) like Rick Dempsey, Roberto Kelly, Candy Maldonado, Tony Armas and Dan Petry may be included, as well as about half as many Major Stars (starters with 150 Wins, relievers with 200 Saves, position players with 1500 hits, and/or 150 stolen bases) like John Franco, Johnny Ray, Mike Flanagan, Julio Franco, and Hubie Brooks along with at least 5 SuperStars with long, productive careers like Ken Griffey, Orel Hershiser, Fernando Valenzuela, Joe Carter, Chris Chambliss, Don Mattingly, Fred Lynn, Bobby Bonds and Roger Clemens. In this last group, you may find a couple of 'performance-enhancing era' players like Clemens, McGwire, Canseco, Sosa, Barry Bonds, or even Pete Rose (gambling infractions). Popular managers, who garnered those stats in their playing days, and that have not been elected (yet) to the HOF, like Billy Martin, Bill Virdon, Lou Piniella and Mike Hargrove are also fair game. You probably won't find, however, any Hall-of-Famers (e.g., 'Eck' , Goose Gossage, Lee Smith, and Tony Gwynn are NOT included) - unless we goofed. BTW, also factored into the categorization process are All-Star game and World Series appearances, awards like Rookie-of-the-Year, MVP, Cy Young, Gold Glove, etc., as well as Games Started and Innings Pitched for pitchers, WAR (Wins Above Replacement) ratings for all, and RBI totals. .......The cards are collated first alphabetically by player's surname, year of manufacture, manufacturer and then numerically by card number, in a single medium-sized (500-card) simulated set-box - usually protected from the elements by being further packaged in four 50-card poly sleeves. .......PLEASE NOTE: If you win this auction and would prefer a predominance of cards from a specific year(s), multiples of any specific player, or of the players on specific teams, we can try to honor your preferences (we have quantities of some cards), but will need at least an extra day or two before shipping. In fact, if you send us a want-list of cards from these years, we may be able to help you complete your sets. Again, please make such a request at the time of payment. We've been known to ship before even seeing any trailing 'messages' or e-mails. .......We have packaged a medium set-box with more than 200 cards. We have made an attempt to equalize the mix so that you'll find at least one card from most years (probably only a handful each from 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1991 and 1993), a few cards each from 1989 and 1992, and at least twenty or thirty from each of the three remaining years (1984, 1987, and 1990) - (but never more than 60 from any one year - unless you request more from a specific year or two). The mix, by team, should also be fairly equal. You may expect a smattering of 'special cards' as well (e.g., All-Stars, Future Stars, Record Breakers, events, managers, etc.), but NO DONRUSS ROOKIES or any other special series cards in this offering. .......Most of the newer cards are in VG, EXC or EXC/NM condition (a few, however, may have a minor defect like a soft corner and/or be slightly off-centered, either left-to-right or top-to-bottom). Occasionally, the Reverse side may be a little off-centered or contain a bubble-gum stain, but is always 100% readable. Cheap enough for the kids to play with, yet rapidly becoming vintage aged, and in collectible condition to be saved as something of a potential investment . We'll miss them, but hope they find a nice new home. Whether your interest is as a gift, a resale, a donation, or for your own use or collection, you're sure to enjoy!! ........Feel free to inquire before bidding, if more info is required. We'll normally send this item via USPS Parcel Select Mail (note that 200 cards weigh almost a pound exclusive of packaging materials). You may request Priority Mail for an added charge (usually a little more if you live in the Northeast), or if you are ordering multiple items or multiple lots. We'll automatically upgrade to Priority if it provides us with a shipping cost savings, as has been the case quite often recently. Please note that extra USPS insurance protecting against shipping loss or damage is not available for this item. Delivery Confirmation and Tracking will usually be provided. ... After more than twenty years of selling on eBay (recently received a congratulatory e-mail from eBay), we retain a nearly 100% positive feedback rating. You can bet that we'll make every effort to earn your approval too!!! Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
