Description: For you to consider is a vintage 1930s clear pressed glass elephant covered box by Co-operative Flint Glass Company. Originally manufactured and sold new to the consumer containing bath salts, the elephant could be repurposed into a cigarette box with the lid (the removable back or top of the elephant) acting as an ashtray when the bath product had been used. Falling victim to the Great Depression, Co-Operative Flint shuttered their doors in 1934, and while contemporary reproductions of their wares can be found today, few of the originals have survived. This example is a clean, well cared for original in beautiful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. The glass is crystal clear and free of cloudiness or stains. The elephant stands approximately 4" in height, is 7" in length, measures 3" wide, and weighs 1.5 pounds. Wear is commensurate with age and history of use, so please regard all of the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing. We welcome your questions and are delighted to answer!
