Description: This Green striated Pelikan M400 was made in Germany in the 1980's. This is the first version of the M400, that came with a friction fit nib unit, instead of the ones that screwed in in the later models. The friction fit nib was made for a very short period at the beginning of the production of the M400 series. The early 400(Günther Wagner) models also came with a friction fit nib units that were later also made to screw in. This M400 came before the Souverän series and looks the same as the 1950's 400. The nib is crafted from 14k 585 gold and is a EF- Extra Fine point. A very smooth and a flexy nib to write with. The pen in mint condition, as you can see on the pictures. The nib writes well and the pen has received a service, which included thorough cleaning and lubrication of the silicone gasket with silicone. These M400 pens had a piston assembly that was made to break if disassembled, so a full disassembly was not possible for this reason. I have provided a writing sample using Pelikan 4001 blue tint, in order to further describe the writing characteristics of the nib. Please keep in mind that I am a left handed writer. Shipping is with Fedex or DHL Express, takes 1-7 days in most cases. Usually there are no custom duties for my customers, however I cannot guarantee this, thus any possible customs chargers are the buyers response. The pen is guaranteed authentic.
