Description: Unmarked Wagner Cast Iron Dutch Oven No. 8 With Self-Basting Lid Restored. See pictures to verify this item's condition! This is a used cast iron dutch oven that shows wear from normal use. It sits flat, with only the slightest wobble on my granite countertop. It measures 10" in diameter. The pot is 4" deep. The lid is a 2" deep dome. There are no cracks in either the pot or the lid. Each resonates when struck with a knuckle. There is a mold mark in the lid that looks like a crack, but it is not. The bail is round and shows no signs of having been bent. Depending on its orientation, the lid goes from a perfect flat fit on the pot to having a bit of a wobble. The markings present are "8 D" on the bottom of the pot and "V 8" on the inside of the lid. This cast iron piece was given a lye bath and then lightly coated with vegetable oil to prevent rust. It has NOT been properly seasoned because my idea of proper seasoning may be different than yours.
