Description: Hello Golgo 13 Duke Togo and watch fans alike. My name is Carl Hauenstein and I am the watchmaker at G.S. Watch Repair and Sales located in Bethel Park Pa. Presented today is an extra special piece, one from my personal collection. Today we have the extremely limited edition of one of only 500 made and that is the Seiko Golgo 13 Marine Master collaboration dive watch. Golgo 13 as you may know is the most popular and longest running Japanese illustrated / animated series and features the man with the custom M-16 Duke Togo. Beloved the world over since his introduction in 1969, this super spy definitely gives James Bond a run for his money. I became familiar with him the 1980s and was immediately drawn in. Naturally when this collaboration was released in 2012 I had to have it. Is this actually the worlds most complete set? Thats up for debate but I would challenge anyone to find anything that would best this set in completeness. Starting with the outer sleeve of the box working inward you will receive 1. The white sleeve of the outer box with the bar code and SBBN023 reference number. 2. The black Leed and Seiko cobranded outer gun case box with Golgo 13 logo 3.The black manual and warranty card tray sleeve 4. Full manual with original unused first battery replacement certification card still attached. 5. Both original warranty and guarantee cards 6. The Seiko Golgo 13 logo branded hardshell carry case with eggshell foam padding in the style of a gun case with leather protected corners and metal folding clasp lock 7. The original Prospex hanging price tag with the watches original blue protective backing sticker attached 8. The absolutely gorgeous watch itself in all its glory number 466/500 9. The icing on the cake, the original illustrated model brochure from the shop display in japan. I'd go as far as to say this booklet is probably rarer than the watch itself. Again, I would challenge anyone to find another. So as I said, I cannot verify that this is indeed the most complete set in the world but I'd wager on it. I absolutely do not want to let this piece go but I am in a situation where funds do need to be raised so hence the extremely painful decision to list my 2nd favorite watch for sale. A little about this watch, it is black PVD coated steel in a 47mm wide without the original signed crown and 45mm lug to lug. The lugs are 22mm wide and this is the original bracelet in stunning condition. It has all appropriate logoing on the clasps and buckles which also have a lovely brushed finish with polished bevel. There is some very very light scratching and is shown in the pictures. The bracelet, like the watch itself though is essentially like new. The PVD coated shroud is in remarkable condition considering how much these shrouds were meant to take and usually do. There is one mark on the shroud at the top of the case but no chipping or scratching more like a very small scuff only visible under extremely close inspection. Any other micro scratches are not visible and would be consistent with age if present at all. The screwdown engraved back has the limited edition number and Golgo 13 text extremely bright and crisp and all other engraving and type perfect. This case comes equipped with an oversized S Seiko logo screwdown crown which controls the famous Seiko 7C46 quartz movement. Pulled to the 1st position you can use the handy quickset feature to control the day and date. You have the option of English or Kenji print for the days. Saturday is in blue and Sunday in red with the remaining days in white. All dates are done in white. The PVD shroud protects the unidirectional rotating click bezel. The print and color of the bezel is like new. The hardlex crystal is also near perfect but as shown in the last pictures there are two microscopic micro chips only visible under magnification on the crystal. One at 9 the other at noon. Unless a loupe is used you will never see them. The black dial is built to resemble the red cross hair of Mr. Togos M-16. A truly unique and ultra cool design. The superluminova lume is still extremely bright and long lasting on all aplied surfaces. Basically this watch and all its contents are like new. These absolutely never come up for sale. I've seen 1 other for sale in the past 3 years and it had an incorrect strap, was beat up, and no other inclusions for the kit. With only 500 ever made there are bound to be a few lost to time since so without a doubt there are less than 500 of these in existence. Seiko made a feild, office, air, and sea model for their collaboration with Golgo 13. This sea model is by far the most desirable of the grouping with its darth tuna styling and dive watch appeal. So if you are a fan of Seiko in general, Tunas, rare watches, Golgo 13, or all of the above then if you dont take this one you may have another chance at a set like this again.
