Here is a superb piece of serrated fossil tooth bone tip from a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It was found in the Hell Creek Formation, near Newell, Butte County, South Dakota, about 20 miles north of Sturgis. There were a large number of pieces found in the same exact site, of a T-Rex. The specimen measures about 0.57 inches (14.48 mm). From the late Cretaceous, 66 to 68 million years ago. The last great Age of the Dinosaurs. The very tip of the tip was attached at the point of excavation with a Star Bond adhesive. Nearly invisible. No paint has been used. Serrations are easily visible (use a loupe or strong magnifier for better results) on both sides of the tooth. Please look carefully at each photo.Many people use these tips to "finish off" T rex teeth that are missing their tip, which is common, considering the force used on those teeth by the living Tyrannosaurus rex. Tyrannosaurus Rex was king of the predators in the Hell Creek Formation. The name Tyrannosaurus means "Tyrant Lizard" in Greek, and Rex means "King" in Latin.
