Description: This is an overall Good++ Condition TM 30-944 War Department Technical Manual Dictionary of Spoken Russian Published 9 November 1945. 580 pages. 7 3/4" (19.7 cm) x 10 1/4" (26 cm). In typical Army fashion, they issued it to my great-Uncle who had put on his Army application that he spoke a little Russian. Unfortunately for the Army and my great-Uncle, he could only read three words in Cyrillic: the word Bible and his name. He was a Combat Engineer for the 106th Golden Lion Division (but there are no divisional or identifying marks in it, probably because his division was destroyed in the Battle of the Bulge and never reconstituted) and this book was kept in his kit for about a year after the war ended, but he never opened it, and it was stored for a time by Belgian civilians he had been staying with after he became a POW and was released.
