This very well-designed rack adder is made of nickel-plated brass, 8” X 1 5/8” X 1 1/8”, with 9 racks, results register with adjustable decimal point indicators, steel margins with complementary figures for subtraction, setting control mechanism, and release key to return the set-up racks to their normal position. To set the results register to zero, the knob on the right side is pulled out and turned to the left until it can go no further; it must be turned to the right until it has clicked back into its normal position. This 9-place Comptator is in good overall condition, with no surface oxidation, in its original plush-lined case which is slightly worn.
