Description: Throughout the last decade I have been blessed to have the opportunity of purchasing Wild Yellowstone Bison Robes from the Confederated Salish & Kootenai tribe-here in Northwest Montana. I've been solely operating a small tannery for the last 25 years- and selling my work here on eBay for 20 of those. Please see my feedback and buy with total confidence. Yellowstone Bison have a silkier, cleaner-more dense hair than domestic Bison. Many say the Yellowstone strain is the purist in the world. When I dress my robes, I always trim the rough edges off-which gives them a cleaner appearance. What you are looking at and bidding on is these trimmed off edges. Tanned leather and various length hair from every part of an entire Bison Robes edges. These strips vary in length, width and hair length/density. Some are numerous feet long, some are only inches. One edge is straight from being cut with a razor. The natural edge isn't straight and rough. There is also small holes throughout in the leather from the hooping process on whole blankets while drying and scraping. These have hundreds of applications-the sky is truly the limit in gift shops or crafts. I know folks who use them for cat toys, bracelets/necklaces/jewelry, picture frames, Christmas tree garland/ornaments, fur loops for holding up other skins, hiking stick wraps, dog collars, etc. Literally your imagination can do whatever you want with it. Very cool and unique stuff!! These strips are fully tanned, but the hair is not fully cleaned like my finished robes. Meaning-they require light brushing to make them completely clean-depending on use. I'm trying to make it affordable and if I was to brush it all-I'd have to charge double. This auction is for as much Wild Yellowstone Bison Robe edges/strips as i can fit into a usps medium flat rate box. Has to be a few pounds worth. I would guess 20-50 ft. of heavily haired strips-but haven't measured exactly. I expect and appreciate payment immediately following auctions winning/end. Please feel free to make offers.
