This one is exceptionally versatile and striking whether it is on leather, stainless steel bracelet or if you were to source a classic pliable dive rubber strap option. If one is looking for an absolute perfect mechanical dive watch that can handle a variety of work or play situations then look no farther. This is a definitive "one watch" contender for a knowledgeable watch buyer. And it terms of collectibility and rarity, my understanding is that only 300 of these dark gray fume dials were made! They were commissioned for a USA based retailer of cool watches and were not made available on the Squale web-site or in other world-wide retailers.As the reader probably knows, the Montauk is a revered model in the Squale line-up. Squale is Italian for shark. So here you have an Italian designed, Swiss Made awesome diver. The Montauk name refers to the Spring, Summer, Pool, Beach and Ocean vibe and design ethos associated with the Montauk seaside town. Mix this one with umbrella drinks or any scenic water views and it is in its natural habitat. The reasonably serious and stylish fume dial also works for any casual or corporate casual environment. Pair it with the nice bracelet if you are doing work, closing a deal or having a meeting.Of course we are bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity. The condition of this watch is as follows: Pre-owned in excellent condition. I would rate this cool timepiece at 97%+ and the extra strap, in brown leather, is probably the element that shows the most wear (and even that is minimal). Squale is a very interesting and under-appreciated Milan, Italy based watch maker. They focus primarily on super strong-value sport timepieces and focus most heavily on impressive spec dive watches that are striking and tremendous value. This particular timepiece, the Atmos 30 Montauk, is one of their more premium timepieces due to the strong water resistance (30 Atmos = 30 Meter = 300 Feet = Deeper than you will ever dive) and premium bakelite-ish bezel. Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include: 1. This watch is medium sized at 38mm and works well on any wrist. It brings a classic look and I can recommend this watch for virtually anybody, male or female, and any wrist size.2. This is a no-nonsense, versatile classic dive watch with a Swiss Automatic movement, wonderful dive bezel and tremendous visibility under all lighting conditions. 3. The watch is comfortable and between the strap options and bracelet it can handle up to an 8 inch wrist and the inclusion of the bracelet is a large part of the value proposition. If you see these on leather just know that you will need to spend a fair bit extra to get the Squale bracelet as well. Of course, this is a modern timepiece in all aspects but the design ethos has a cool, slightly vintage appeal --- a nod toward a simpler time in diving when the thought of a "diving computer" seemed as strange as putting a man on the moon. 4. The caseback has the oh-so-cool Squale engraving and proudly boasts that this is a 30 Atmos reference. A diver could and should strap this on if you do some serious deep diving --- perhaps on a rubber tropic strap. Use it to back up that dive computer and double check your decompression checkpoints just to be sure. 5. Visibility and wrist presence are the twin hallmarks on this one. Bold hands and large indices, with great lume, ensure maximum readability and frankly just looks cool. Check out the lume shot photos (the last three pictures)! I tried to show the lume after a quick outdoor charge of light for about a minute and then in normal interior lighting, transitioning in a hall way and then in full dark using a closet. 6. A gradient dial, one of the more premium aspects of this particular Squale, combined with the premium bezel are the most noticeable and valuable features of this fine timepiece. A date window complication is provided as well. 7. Rounding our the listing and the package is the full set and extra brown Italian leather Squale strap as mentioned. These are all included as you see in the "everything picture." (Pic #2) We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside). In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation.
