Description: Here we have a much sought-after and very impressive Solid Oak Black Forest Bim Bam Bracket Clock by Winterhalder & Hofmeier d.1890 Winterhalder & Hofmeier were considered the finest clockmakers in the Victorian era and were based in several towns in Germany’s Black Forest region. The company was established in 1810 by Thomas Winterhalder in Friedenweiler, in 1850, when relative and clockmaker, Anton Hofmeier, joined the company, Winterhalder & Hofmeier was born. Towards the latter half of the eighteenth century, Winterhalder & Hofmeier produced various types of clocks that were of very high quality in their factories in Friedenweiler, Neustadt and Schwarzenbach. This particular twin train clock is one of the very highest in quality. Made in oak with a freshly serviced mechanical bim bam chiming movement, that’s works perfectly chiming on the quarters and announcing the time on the hour. The architectural case frames the brass framed bevelled glass door and decorative clockface with a Roman numeral chapter ring.
