Description: This is a great rare edition of Sing Out Magazine from November, 1964. The cover, articles and music of Mississippi John Hurt are all part of this issue. There is also a fascinating open letter to Bob Dylan from the editor. The letter is an attempt to dissuade Dylan from moving away from writing and singing protest songs, all before Dylan’s famous appearance at Newport the following year. This is the very early period of Dylan’s career covered by the new movie “A Complete History Unknown”. There is also content by or about Seeger, Guthrie, Paxton, Leadbelly and Phil Ochs. This issue is in very good condition. The interior pages are very clean and crisp. There is some rubbing to the spine and a 1/2” red stain to the bottom of the back cover.
