Super rare, especially in this condition, and even more sowith signatures of the publisher, creator, writers, and developer. Signed 4X by........1. Pat Mills_Developed Judge Dredd and 2000 A.D., co-wrote first story.2. John Wagner_Creator, writer of Judge Dredd.3. Alan Grant_Writer of Judge Dredd.4. Mike McMahon_First artist on Judge Dredd, with many later contributions. ......at the British Comic gathering for 2000 A.D.fans in Great Britain. And yes, the 1st Judge Dredd was a British conception and publication, before the Eagle comic series of the same name. Represents a complete suite of signatures, all four of the key creator, artist and writers responsible for making Judge Dredd possible. The condition is as follows, with the caveat that these original printings are on inexpensive newsprint/web press. Cover and staples intact and tight. Color is vibrant and clear.Paper color is off-white, with some minor staining spots, most likely from age.Corners seem sharp, again considering newsprintorigination, with a few spinetics, that only show when handled (due to fragile nature of book). Edges are rough naturally—serrated, from production on an open-web press. Lays flat with no warping, bending, or waviness. PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT DETAIL:There is a slight defect on rear cover, approximately one-third of distance from left bottom (see hi-res pic #4). Appears to be a creaseor possibly a tear from the press. When you pick it up does not separate. I have looked at this with a magnifying loop, but I still can't tell.It looks like a professionally repaired area done with minimaldefect showing, maybe by paper-casting or other archival methods.CGC experts would know about this, and if so this would get a "Qualified"or "Restored" grade if submitted... Until CGC comes up with a case that is a little larger though, I would not recommend encasing.The examples I have seen that are encased are "cramped" unprofessionally in a well that's too small for the comic. Please take this into consideration if you purchase; In all other respects, I would say its closer to NM-/NM. Includes the also rare gift decal sheet insert, which was included in original publication. Very hard to find a copy with this insert as well. So, this is the "Holy Grail" of Judge Dredd comics; first appearance of Judge Dredd, high-quality in a tough published format, with the insert included, AND signed by ALL FOUR major contributors including the legendary publisher Pat Mills. Unfortunately, and a great loss tocomic creation, the incomparable Alan Grant,writer extraordinaire, is no longer with usSo this example will most likely be the ONLY example. This is a rare one of a kind, even amongst the handful ofCGC graded ones out there.
