Description: The Seneca Crystal factory in Morgantown, WV produced some of the world's finest cut crystal until the factory closed in 1983. Their clients included Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, and many other famous individuals. Their crystal was featured in Sak's, Bergdorf Goodman, and other top notch retail shops. This set of goblets is from the 1930's and represents the epitome of hand cut American crystal. It is an elaborate hand cut pattern with delicate oval cuts lining the rim and a band of criss-cross cut below. The bowl features delicate swags, leaves and flowers. The stem is bevel cut with a controlled bubble at the base. The foot has the same delicate oval cuts as the top rim. The reference book “Seneca Glass Company, 1891-1983, A Stemware Identification Guide” identifies this pattern as being produced on stem 916. It is not given a pattern name or cut designation. It is simply known as pattern 916-1. Offered here is a stunning set of four water goblets. They are 6 7/8” tall and 4” in diameter at the rim. They are substantial goblets. The four goblets are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. They ring like a bell and shine like a diamond. They are unmarked and presumably originally had a paper label. The price is for the set of four goblets. We are offering free shipping on this item. If you have any questions about this pattern or other Seneca glassware please e-mail us.
