Description: 1815 an entire wrapper addressed to Edinburgh rated at "7"d from Lerwick, Shetland Islands dated for 9th January, bearing on reverse the step type "Lerwick/Ship Letter" handstamp in black ink with an arrival dated for JAN 21 1815. This is accompanied by an entire wrapper from Leith to Lerwick in the same year of 1815 without any Ship Letter marks showing that the step type "Lerwick Ship letter" was not being used for incoming mail.
