It makes a clicking noise but wont open the tape compartment. After some research it might be the interior belts that could be worn, off track or broken. They can be replaced if that's the case. I just paid $48 for the charger after realizing there wasn't one in the case. I have added the charger and reduced the price to $150 which is a great deal for someone that likes to tinker with these vintage camcorders.
