This handmade brooch is layered and has the signature Miriam Haskell on the Russian gold filigree back. It is signed with the Miriam Haskell signature oval. There is some verdigris as would be expected with the age of this piece, but it is in good condition with a strong and secure clasp. It measures approximately twoinches in diameter, and is layered, giving it a delightful 3D effect. This is a rare brooch and is incredibly beautiful. Don't miss out on this rare condition iconic statement piece! What a great gift, or maybe even better to keep. It will arrive in a substantial and protective gift box. ABOUT THE ARTISAN:Most of Haskell's work was handmade from imported glass beads and crystals, after European costume jewelry. The idea wasn’t to imitate the real but to create fanciful fakes inspired by nature and exotic cultures, and this was a novel concept at the time. Miriam's jewelry competed with the great French jewelers like Chanel and Schiaparelli. Her collections are marked by a metal filigree covered with clusters of beads and glass pearls. This design is largely owed to Frank Hess, the label’s designer from 1926 to 1960. I package very carefully and am pleased to offer discounted shipping on multiple purchases.
