Description: Rare Vintage 1940s Gibson Mastertone Tube Amplifier. I included a small video so you can see that it does play, sounds pretty good, and does have a bit of volume. You can hear a little bit of static in between playing, I move the camera closer to the amp at the end of the video so you can hear it. This is a small amp 12” x 11 1/2” x 7 1/2” with an 8” speaker but very heavy for its size at 15lbs. The Mastertone “Special” is said to have been made by Gibson between 1940 and 1942, this one is configured a little differently and is not marked so I don’t know the model, but I assume it was made around the same time. The Mastertones are said to be a lower cost alternative to the Gibson EH line. It has scuff, scrapes, a stain on the grill. Also one of the feet is missing, and that piece of wood screwed in the top of the inside has a chunk missing. Sold as-is, as pictured
