It has a woven bamboo handle attached to the stoneware handles, which in turn have marks in them to look like rivets, a very detailed and fabulous stoneware teapot. Otagiri products were handcrafted and handpainted. It would have been imported by Otagiri Mercantile Company (OMC) for sale in the USA. Condition:The condition is excellent. There are no chips or cracks. The handle is secure, and the weaving is completely intact. There is some glaze on the bottom. There is some slight tea staining inside around the spout. This may be able to be removed by soaking with a Polident tablet and water. Note: I do have Otagiri stoneware mugs up for sale separately.
