Description: This week I'm offering a variety of collectibles, including trading cards as well as comics. Marvel reached its peak of popularity and creativity during the Sixties and early Seventies. In the Seventies, Marvel made a decision to expand their universe of characters. They published quite a number of "tryout" titles, such as Marvel Chillers, Marvel Feature and Marvel Premiere, all of which were used to present various characters before making a decision to give them their own title. Quite a number of popular characters got their first presentation in these titles. One of these was Red Sonja, essentially a female version of Conan. Originally a recurring character in the Conan series, in 1975 she was given her own showcase, in the pages of Marvel Feature, her stories being written and illustrated by Frank Thorne. A generation before Xena, Red Sonja was pop culture's first female sword and sorcery heroine! Here I have Marvel Feature (Volume 2) #4, dated May 1976. It's in very good condition, due to some chipping at the upper edge of the cover - see scans for condition. This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping is $3.50 for First Class Mail, and I'll combine and discount shipping costs for multiple winnings. Payment is via PayPal only. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
