It was an amazing cable then and it is just as amazing today. The Silver 1 cable is NOT copper or silver-plated copper. IT IS PURE SILVER. The conductors are red because they are litz wire and therefore coated with enamel. This cable consists of a shield and three conductors. Conductors consist of pure Teflon insulation (Teflon is the best insulator known) and ultra-pure silver litz wire…the ultimate construction and combination. It’s 20 gauge. The cable jacket is soft and very flexible. Anyone who wants to make custom sized interconnects, either single-ended or balanced, or do amazing audio installations will find this cable a rare opportunity.
