Description: This is an incredibly rare piece of steel recovered from the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash on October 20th, 1977 in Gillsburg, Mississippi. It measures 5.5"X1.5" and has the planes (Convair 240 Jet) actual model number "240" etched in the steel. It was recovered at the crash site 40+ years after the plane crash buried 3 feet in the Mississippi soil. This is as rare as its gets period. The lot also comes with a signed COA by Dwain Easley on who's property the plane crashed and was the first responder to enter the plane and lead the rescue effort saving 20 lives that evening. Also included is a signed 8X10 of the entire band posing in front of the plane 4 days before the crash by band mate Artimus Pyle. Also a signed plane crash recollection letter by Artimus Pyle " A Thumbnail Sketch Of tragedy". The cleaned mark on the steel is where I had to grind out the bolt to separate the steel.
