Description: Here is a small lot of three Kentucky coin silver spoons and one gravy ladle. Makers include G.W. McDannold, C.W. Stewart, S. Wheritt and Kitts & Werne. Each of these utensils is in what would be considered good to very good antique condition. They have a combined weight of 162 grams and are all of a thicker gauge silver than was common. The longer of the spoons is 9.5" was made by S. Wheritt. It has a 1.75" bowl. It is a thicker, heavier spoon than was common for the period. It features 'Lucy 1887' monogram on the top side of the handle. On the under side is a more modern mono which reads 'D-F 1975'. There is also a small eagle or bird hallmark next to the makers stamp. This spoon is in very nice antique condition. The bowl has a crisp edge with very few friction marks to speak of. Age appropriate, light tarnish and or discoloration throughout. This spoon has seen very little use. The other serving spoon was made by G.W. McDannold. It is approximately 8.75" in length with a 7/8" bowl. This is the most substantial piece in the lot and is arguably in the best condition. Elegantly monogramed name on the handle in period correct script. Very light wear throughout. There is a feint crease on the under side of the bowl which I have shown in a picture. The gravy ladle was made by C.W. Stewart. It is approximately 7" in length with a 2" wide bowl. This is a heavy piece for the era and is made of thicker gauge of silver than was common. It has a stylized, single letter script monogram. There is a very slight wave or bend in the handle. Otherwise, it is in very good antique condition with light scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. There are flecks of tarnish and discoloration here and there. Lastly is a teaspoon made by Kitts & Werne. It is approximately 5.75" in Length. This spoon is also a bit more substantial than most of the common, fiddle shaped spoons of the era. Nicely scripted monogram. There are some slight waves or ripples in the bowl. It has light scratches and wear commensurate with age and use.
