Description: The famous courtyard of La Petite Theatre in New Orleans (the "Little Theatre") as captured in the early 20th century by legendary New Orleans photographer Eugene Delcroix. His dream-like silver-gelatin photos famously captured sites in the French Quarter, swamps and other local scenes. Signed lower right. My understanding is that these were limited to 50 copies. It's signed by the artist. The photograph is in great vintage condition. Probably the original black wood frame and glass front. Frame shows signs of wear (see photos). Artwork dimensions including frame:17 1/4" x 14" x 1/2" Delcroix was a Southern pictorialist noted for his soft-focus platinum prints of New Orleans. He photographed the Vieux carré of New Orleans and produced the book "Patios, Stairways, and Iron-Lace Balconies of Old New Orleans" in 1938. I've found 3 other copies selling at galleries for $316 to $425 + shipping. We're downsizing and this has to find a new home where it will be appreciated for the 100+ year old piece of artwork that it truly is. As a general rule, no refunds or returns without cause.
