Description: Period pale green eyelet dress made in 1947 by 20th Century Fox for the film "The Late George Apley". The film's costume designer is Rene Hubert. The production number 499 is on a bias label which matches the film's production wardrobe number. Though I have scanned a copy of the film, I do not see it worn by a principle player, so it may have been used by an extra. The costume is from the studio's costume inventory and most likely used in another production. The dress is made of heavy cotton with several layers of fabric. The gown has a small tear in the hem. The neckline and sleeve trim has small tears. Overall, I rate this costume in excellent condition.
