In 1972, John and Yoko, who had moved to New York, were asked to perform a charity concert at Madison Square Garden in New York to hold the "One to One" concert. In preparation for this concert, which marked John's full-scale return to the stage, he rehearsed in earnest for several days at New York's Butterfly Studios and Fillmore East with his backing band, Elephant's Memory.
