Description: English antique aesthetic sterling silver dessert knife and fork by Frederick Elkington dated Birmingham 1881 with Japanese Shibayama handles inset with mother of pearl and depicting plants and birds, etc. The blades and tines are engraved with the same motifs as the handles. Length of knife 8"; length of fork 7 1/8". There are losses to the handles where the mother of pearl has fallen out. The silver is in excellent condition.
