He died on the 13th of April 2020 in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Both pieces share a bold use of color, with thick, expressive brushstrokes that give the paintings a textured, almost sculptural quality. The red backgrounds provide a dramatic contrast to the more subdued tones of the figures, emphasizing their forms and expressions. Tovar's style often includes surreal and fantastical elements, which are evident in the striking, dreamlike quality of these portraits. Please view photos as they are part of the description.
