About the Author- About The Author: Sir George Tomkyns Chesney was a British Army general, politician, and writer. Born in 1830, he joined the Bengal Engineers and served during the Indian rebellion of 1857, earning recognition for his bravery. Chesney's contributions extended beyond the military, as he made significant reforms and advocated for Indianization in the Indian Army. He was also a prolific writer, publishing novels and contributing to periodicals. In 1892, he entered the Parliament of the United Kingdom as a Conservative party member.
