Description: Rare and in good condition — some wear along edges. This is an original Richard Nixon political poster from 1978. The poster is from the Committee to Boycott Nixon’s Memoirs – a political campaign that was established in the late 1970s to stop and boycott the publication and sale of Nixon’s memoirs. The poster is in good condition and the colors are bright. The poster has been rolled but not hung. It measures 17 3/8 x 23 inches and will be shipped in a poster tube. The publication and release of then ex-President Nixon’s memoirs were swirled in controversy as discussed in a 2010 New York Times article “All the President’s Memories” by Craig Fehrman. The Fehrman article says that the Nixon memoirs “ lumbered toward its May 15, 1978, release date — until two young men from Washington, D.C., Tom Flanigan, a carpet cleaner, and William Boleyn, a restaurant owner, decided to do something about it. Together with 17 friends, mostly recruited from their softball team, Flanigan and Boleyn raised $39,375 and founded the Committee to Boycott Nixon’s Memoirs.
