This club-sized Chess set features a 4.0" King with a 1 7/8" diameter base and is crafted out of the highest grade Boxwood and Genuine Ebony. This set comes with 2 different styles of Knights - The Classical Collector Knight and the Imperial Collector Knight, for a total of 38 Chess pieces. They are hand carved and hand turned by our master artisans to the highest quality standards ever seen in a Chess set. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with green embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings. The distinctive feature of this set is the the open-mitered Bishop and Knight design, which is modeled after the noble steeds from the Greek Parthenon (Elgin Marbles.) If you look carefully at the House of Staunton Supreme collectors Luxury sets they come with an inferior set of knights currently. This set is highly collectable! House of Staunton offers replacement pieces for life on their chess sets. This particular set has a hairline crack in both of the spare queens. One of the black knights also has a hairline crack. Also the imperial collector white knights are a little lighter in color than the other white pieces but that is how the set came from hos. The newer version of this set retails for $1999. I’m offering it here at greatly reduced pricing. You can submit the slightly cracked pieces back to House of Staunton and have this set in perfect condition for resale! Or use it as it is for decades. However, when you send these pieces in you will still have a functional set. (Extra knights and extra queens are the only pieces with hairline cracks(!!))
