Description: RARE HARD TO FIND HAPPY HALF HOURS WITH THE BIBLE AND CHILDREN CHARLOTTE M. YONGE 1910 COLOR PLATES—PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE DESCRIPTION. THIS RARE BOOK IS BEING SOLD AS IS The main reason I rate this beautiful antiquarian book as acceptable is because it has some musty odor. Not an overpowering smell and it’s not damp but the book is made of heavy paper of the most porous type and can be aired out more. The 32 color plates and 100+ B&W engravings could easily be removed, aired out, if needed, and the gorgeous lithographs framed. The color plates are on fine grade slick paper. One lithograph is torn across its center. Two lithographs are separated from the book’s sewn binding and there are cracks in dry spine of binding in places, as pictured in my photos. Pages are tanned with some foxing. All pages are complete and book is unmarked with no inscriptions. Back and front endpapers were taped in by former owner. Brown boards have a stamped in cover in red, blue and black colors on brown background of a woman seated reading this book with 3 children gathered round her. Cover has edge wear as shown. Heavy book, 3.6 pounds to ship. Content is fabulously old-fashioned and written to be used as a chapter a week for a year of 52 Sunday school or Bible study type lessons for young children, about ages 4 to 11.
