Description: This auction is brought to you by Classic Entertainment Autographs, one of the industry's best-known and most trusted sources for authentic signed material in the field of vintage entertainment! Up for grabs is the following item: Highly scarce vintage inscribed back felt-tip pen signature on a 4x6-inch pink card, acquired in-person by inveterate autograph hound John Virzi in 1975. In good condition and suitable for matting with a favorite photograph. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the signed card is not included. Dubbed "The Face," knockout Australian model and leading lady Victoria Shaw was discovered by Bob Hope during a trip down under in 1955. After Hope helped her land a contract at Columbia, she proved enchanting in a mixed bag of westerns, crime and mystery flicks, dramas, and comedies, including Return of the Plainsman (1953), The Eddy Duchin Story (1956), The Crimson Kimono (1959), and the sci-fi gem Westworld (1973). Alas, despite considerable talent and popularity with audiences, she never seemed to get the right parts and was constantly plagued with medically inexplicable health problems. The latter led to her loss of the leading role in William Castle's horror film Homicidal (1961), which instead went to Patricia Breslin. Shaw died at the age of 53, due to a severe bout of asthma, and her autograph is extremely uncommon in any format. The high bidder is to pay $9.95 postage and handling within the United States or, for overseas sales, the rate specified by the eBay global shipping program. Any applicable state sales tax will be collected by eBay.
