Description: Submitted for your review is a 2004 Hasbro GI Joe 40th Anniversary Authentic Reproduction of a 1964 Era Issue GI Joe Action Marine Communications SetCaucasian Version#3 in Series - Mint in Mint Box When he was first introduced in 1964, GI Joe took the toy world by storm. With 21 movable parts and loads of detailed accessories, "America's Movable Fighting Man" quickly became a sensation and a new way to play for boys across the nation and around the world. To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of America's greatest toy soldier, GI Joe, Hasbro began releasing large box sets that included a boxed 12 inch action figure from one of the four Armed Services (Action Soldier, Action Marine, Action Pilot and Action Sailor) and related uniform and accessory sets. The 40th packaging was almost identical to the original items. Original plans called for 30 different sets to be released, however, the line was cancelled before completion and not all the sets were manufactured and / or released. This auction is for the "3rd in a Series", Action Marine Communications Post Set. Any newbie to GI Joes, can re-live the feeling that boys felt when they got their first GI Joe and were able to dress him with different equipment. I received my first Joe in 1965 when I was 11 years old, and I can tell you that there was no greater feeling of joy, than when I played with GI Joe and dressed him in different uniforms. I am not alone, as there are millions of boys who love GI Joe and his many incarnations to this day. There is no better gift for a pre-teen boy!!! The brown painted head 12" Action Marine that you are bidding on, is dressed in a camouflaged fatigue uniform, and comes in a reproduction coffin box (marked 40th Anniversary). It includes a plastic olive drab fatigue cap, metal dog tag and Marine manual and insignia sheet. The carded Marine Communications Post set includes camouflaged poncho, a bunch of combat communication equipment and a Marine Field Manual. This set has never been opened and it's contents haven't been handled, or played with, in any way. The contents are 100% mint. The box has little to no shelf wear and displays beautifully.
