Description: FROM THE COLLECTION OF FORREST J ACKERMAN. Vintage original 5 page typescript of FORREST J ACKERMAN interviewing DRACULA, METROPOLIS and THE MUMMY cinematographer KARL FREUND (1890-1969). I expect the interview was done in the 1960s. This is the transcript of an audio interview which we are in the process of getting transferred to an audio CD which we will soon make available. The first 3 pages of this original unpublished typescript are shown above. The complete typescript is four single-spaced pages and the fifth page for some reason is written in long hand in pencil which has the conclusion of the interview. Karl Freund died in 1969 and I have no idea when this unpublished transcription was made as it was found in a box which contained the reel to reel tape recording of the original interview.
