Description: Up for bid is an unusual antique etched and painted brass vase with a European children motif, as is. The vase is about 5 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches in diameter. It has a tapered body with a high shoulder, a short neck and an incurved rim. The exterior is etched with a boy with a scythe and a girl with a rake in European peasant garb. The figures are framed with tree trunks rising to leaves around the shoulder. The figures are painted in black and red. The vase has a flat foot and a dark patinated interior. There are no visible marks. Condition on the piece is fair. There are a couple of large but shallow dents in the sides and rim edge, as well as some scuffs and spots. It has wear and darkening of age. Still an interesting piece of antique metalwork.
