Description: This listing is for a set of 5 authentic and original Cold War era US military serial numbered 'Blood Chits' including the following: 48 Star XM-51-1 “E” Series (Europe); 48 Star XM-51-2 “F” Series (Far East); 48 Star XM-51-3 “R Series (USSR & Satellites); XM-60-1 “L” Series (Latin America); and XM-61-1 “S” Series (Southeast Asia - West Central Pacific). Published by the Aeronautical Chart and Information Service, U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., and lithographed in the 1950’s (marked RESTRICTED) and 1960’s, these Blood Chits are 100% authentic and original, not replicas or reproductions. A blood chit is an official document carried by a pilot promising reward for safe return to their home country. When presented by a downed pilot and properly validated, blood chits represent an obligation by the issuing government to provide compensation for services rendered to the bearer. Each blood chit is individual serial numbered and shows age-related folds, edge-fraying, minor tears and/or possibly light stains, but all are beautiful and in very good condition for being ~60+ years old. Sold "as-is." Thanks!
